All This D&D, Where Can I Get More?
High Rollers D&D
High Rollers D&D is a Dungeons and Dragons show hosted by the some in the UK every Sunday and is incredibly fun to watch.
Mark Hulmes, the dungeon master of the group takes everyone into the gang's newest campaign Altheya: The Dragon Empire, where Dragon's rule the cities threats are many. I've wanted to recommend the High Rollers to a wider audience for a long time, because they really set the standard for Dungeons and Dragons in a way. I've seen their previous campaign Aerois all the way through, make sure to give the campaign a chance, just have a look at episode one, it's really good and honestly, an amazing story. Whenever they play, Mark does a very good job of planning game events, having meaningful dialogue with the players, and taking advantage of the idea of mystery if you ever get to watch Aerois. The heroes originally only have their own side quests to complete, the only reason why the party was traveling together was survival from the wilderness, but then they started to develop a common enemy pretty fast. But one of the coolest parts about Mark's games was that the enemy was ever-changing, there is not always just "the same old bad guys" it's, there is always some new threat engaging with the players, which interests me because I need to do that myself whenever I play Dungeons and Dragons with my friends. As I've learned over being a dungeon master many times throughout my time, you have to become a beacon of light to all your players, you the game, you tell the players what happen to them, they have eyes on you at all times. So, because the players have all eyes on you, you have to come up with interesting dialogue for the NPCs, you've got to make every situation a character faces interesting, reward them, or punish them, there is no null choices in Dungeons and Dragons, if it becomes null, then people will be overall less excited. It takes time to build the character to become a dungeon master if you don't already have that type of character to be the center of attention, I have never been the type of person to be the center of attention, but I've always loved the combat system in Dungeons and Dragons, which not as many people get hyped about when they see D&D, so I will have to move away from that if I do want to be a Dungeons Master. Overall, I've learned a lot from High Rollers, and I highly recommend that if you want to know what good D&D is, check them out, it's always fun seeing what Mark has in store.
