Ludwig's Climb to Plat in League of Legends

 The Grind to Plat

Ludwig Takes on an Impossible Challenge

Ludwig Ahgren, famous Twitch Streamer and Youtuber, took on a challenge from pro League of Legends streamer Tyler1 to reach bottom of Plat before the end of the season.

Some would have never thought such a feat could have been achieved, but alas, Ludwig pulls his weight, and gets the job done. Although he had accomplished his goal, it took a lot of blood, sweat, and tears in order to get to where he is today, completing a mentally exhausting challenge.

This whole story started when Ludwig began to stream League for the first time, and comparatively to other players in the industry, he was shall we say, not so hot at playing jungle.

Ludwig consistently had hard times playing League, he would desperately try to win fights, and if something went wrong, his rage would set in. Lud got into fights with his teammates, like many League players do, and during the beginning of his career, it was a struggle to even play and stay positive in the wins to loses ratio.

But Ludwig started to put on his A-game, he insisted to hire pro League players, a relationship coach for him and CdawgVA, and so much more. He starts to learn the ropes, to eventually learn to play the game, where he needs to go, how to micro-manage fights and abilities, he is learning the basics of how to play the game. Although during this time Ludwig's wins/loses ratio has not increased, he is improving his abilities drastically.

These events, bringing on guests like pro League players and the relationship coach, was all a part of this huge gaming event called League Week. Ludwig planned to play League every day of League Week for extremely amounts of hours, grinding his way to Platinum, as that was his ultimate goal. But despite the help he had along the way, the wins were not increasing, it seems like all hope was lost.

But right at the end, when we all thought the story was over, Ludwig decided to stop streaming League and played without chat. Chat was being extremely toxic to Ludwig while he played, exponentiating his rage when his teammates called him a bad player. So, he built a philosophy during his time that supposedly got him a win streak and eventually, got him to Platinum. He started playing his own game. He would not take on bad fights, fights that looked unwinnable, he would do his job in the jungle and take care of only what he could do. He built this philosophy that, he can only do, what he can do. He during his games, he would take care of himself, lowing his death count, and doing his job in the jungle, and eventually, he saw his win rate soar. Ludwig would go on win streaks, only to be stopped by the occasional loss. This new approach to League with his previous skills learned took him to new heights. From there, he had reached his ultimate goal, after about 500 games, according to Tyler1, is a very short number of games to reach Platinum.

So Tyler1 issued the challenge to reach Platinum, and Ludwig did the impossible. As a part of this challenge issued by Tyler1, he promised to give Ludwig a compliment to his abilities if he completed this challenge, which he thought would be impossible. To his disbelief, he called Ludwig an actually decent League Player, which filled Ludwig with pride. That is Ludwig's grind to Platinum for your story on this week's post of Today in Gaming.
